Aircraft approach angles
A glide path is the angle of descent an aircraft follows when approaching a runway, guided by instruments or visual aids.
The term extends to any planned trajectory toward a goal: The company is on a glide path to profitability.
In finance, glide paths describe how investment allocations shift over time, typically becoming more conservative as retirement approaches: a target-date fund's glide path.
