geeked out
Got obsessively excited
Geeked out describes becoming intensely enthusiastic or obsessively engaged with something, especially a niche interest or technical subject.
Someone who has geeked out has indulged their inner geek without restraint: We geeked out over the new telescope for hours.
The phrase suggests joyful absorption rather than embarrassment about one's passions.
