floor registers
Grounded air grilles
Floor registers are the grilles or vent covers set into floors that allow heated or cooled air from ductwork to enter a room.
They typically have adjustable louvers to control airflow direction and volume: Close the floor registers in rooms you're not using.
The term distinguishes them from wall or ceiling registers in the same HVAC system.
