field chaplain
Warzone religious leader
A field chaplain is a religious minister attached to military forces in active operations, providing spiritual care, counseling, and religious services to troops in combat zones or deployed areas.
Unlike chaplains stationed at permanent bases, field chaplains move with their units and often serve under the same dangerous conditions as the soldiers they support: The field chaplain held services in a bombed-out church.
