fiddle leaf fig
Designer's favorite tree
A fiddle leaf fig is a tropical tree native to West Africa, popular as an indoor plant for its large, violin-shaped leaves.
The leaves have prominent veins and a leathery texture.
Notoriously finicky about light, water, and humidity, it has become a status symbol in interior design: Every Brooklyn apartment has a fiddle leaf fig in the corner.
