festoons
Decorative hanging chains
Festoons are decorative chains or garlands draped in curves between two points—ribbons, flowers, or fabric looped along a wall or between columns.
The word also names the curved pattern itself, common in architecture and ornament.
To festoon is to decorate with such chains, or more loosely, to cover abundantly: The office was festooned with streamers for the party.
