festooning
Adorning with garlands
Festooning is the act of decorating with garlands, streamers, ribbons, or similar ornamental hangings draped in curves between two points.
The word extends to any lavish or abundant decoration: The committee spent hours festooning the gymnasium for prom.
Something can also be festooned with non-decorative things, usually suggesting excessive quantity: a manuscript festooned with corrections.
