feet on the ground
Sensible, not dreamy
Feet on the ground describes a practical, realistic outlook—someone who remains sensible despite success, wealth, or circumstance.
A person with their feet on the ground doesn't get carried away by fantasy or ego: Despite the fame, she's kept her feet on the ground.
The image contrasts with having one's head in the clouds.
