fecking

Irish mild expletive

Fecking is an Irish English intensifier, a minced form of fucking that sounds milder while serving the same emphatic purpose: That's fecking brilliant, I can't find my fecking keys.

Popularized outside Ireland by the sitcom *Father Ted*, it retains a comedic, distinctly Irish flavor.

Though softer than fucking, it's still impolite in formal settings.
