dadgum
Blasted, Southern style
Dadgum is a mild oath expressing frustration, surprise, or emphasis, used as a euphemism for goddamn: Dadgum it, I left my wallet at home, That's a dadgum shame.
The word is characteristically Southern American, carrying a folksy or rural flavor.
Like similar euphemisms (doggone, dadblame), it softens the original while preserving the emphatic punch.
