fake pass
Ball-handling misdirection move
A fake pass is a deceptive move in sports where a player pretends to pass the ball in one direction while actually keeping it or sending it elsewhere.
The goal is to misdirect defenders and create openings: He froze the defender with a fake pass, then drove to the basket.
Common in basketball, football, hockey, and soccer.
