face swaps
Digital visage exchanges
Face swaps are digitally altered images or videos in which two people's faces are exchanged, or one person's face is mapped onto another's body.
The technology ranges from playful phone apps that swap faces in real time to sophisticated deepfakes that can convincingly place anyone's likeness into existing footage: The face swap made it look like my dad was in the movie.
