estimated bill
Calculated expected cost
An estimated bill is a charge calculated from projected or typical usage rather than actual measurement.
Utility companies send estimated bills when they can't read a meter: The gas company sent an estimated bill because the meter reader couldn't access our basement.
Estimated bills are later reconciled against actual usage, sometimes resulting in adjustments or credits.
