Standing on end
Endways means with the end facing forward or toward the viewer, or with ends touching end to end.
If you slide a couch through a narrow doorway endways, you lead with one of its ends rather than its side.
The word also describes things arranged in a line where each piece's end meets the next: The dominoes stood endways across the table.
Endwise is a common variant with identical meaning.
