endothermal
Takes in heat
Endothermal describes a process that absorbs heat from its surroundings.
Chemical reactions that require heat input to proceed are endothermal—the opposite of exothermal reactions that release heat.
The term appears in chemistry and physics: The melting of ice is an endothermal process.
Also spelled endothermic, which is more common.
