eastern plains
Lowlands toward sunrise
Eastern plains are the flat, low-lying grasslands found on the eastern side of a mountain range or in the eastern portion of a region.
In American usage, the term often refers specifically to the Great Plains territory east of the Rocky Mountains: The eastern plains of Colorado are cattle country.
