early finish
Ahead of schedule
An early finish is completing work or leaving before the scheduled or expected time.
In project management, it refers to a task ending ahead of its planned date.
In everyday use, it describes getting off work sooner than usual: The boss gave us an early finish on Friday.
British speakers use this more than Americans, who might say "getting out early."
