eager beaver
Overly zealous worker
An eager beaver is someone who shows enthusiastic willingness to work or participate, often to an excessive degree.
The term carries a mildly mocking tone, suggesting the person's zeal may be annoying or overly earnest: The new intern is such an eager beaver—she's already reorganized the supply closet.
From the industrious reputation of beavers.
