dye lot
Fabric production group
A dye lot is a batch of material—typically yarn, fabric, or hair color—dyed together in a single production run.
Because slight variations occur between batches, crafters buy enough yarn from the same dye lot to complete a project: Check the dye lot numbers to make sure they match.
Even minor differences can create visible inconsistencies in finished work.
