drive by shootings

Vehicle-based attack volleys

Drive-by shootings are attacks where someone fires a gun from a moving vehicle, typically at people on the street or in buildings.

The tactic became associated with gang violence in American cities during the 1980s and 1990s, allowing shooters to strike and flee quickly: Three people were wounded in a drive-by shooting last night.

The term sometimes appears as a modifier for anything done hastily without accountability: drive-by journalism.
