dragon boat festival
Racing longboat event
Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional East Asian holiday, particularly prominent in China, held on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month.
The festival features dragon boat races—long, narrow boats paddled by teams to the beat of drums—and eating zongzi, sticky rice wrapped in bamboo leaves.
The holiday commemorates the ancient poet Qu Yuan, who drowned himself in protest of political corruption.
