draconic

Harsh beyond reason

Draconic means relating to or resembling a dragon—used in fantasy literature, games, and mythology: draconic magic, draconic ancestry.

The word also means extremely harsh or severe, from the Athenian lawmaker Draco, whose legal code prescribed death for minor offenses.

In this sense, draconian is more common: draconian measures, draconian penalties.
