disequilibria
Systems out of balance
Disequilibria is the plural of disequilibrium—a state of imbalance or instability.
The term appears most often in economics, where market disequilibria occur when supply and demand fail to match: The central bank intervened to correct disequilibria in the currency markets.
In medicine, vestibular disequilibria affect balance and spatial orientation.
