devotional songs

Devotional songs are religious or spiritual music intended to express worship, praise, or reverence for a deity or sacred figure.

They appear across virtually all faith traditions—Christian hymns, Hindu bhajans, Islamic nasheeds, Jewish nigunim—and may be sung congregationally, performed by choirs, or listened to privately as an act of devotion.

She starts each morning with devotional songs playing softly in the background.

The term emphasizes the music's purpose rather than its style, which can range from ancient chants to contemporary pop arrangements.
