defrost setting
Microwave's thaw option
A defrost setting is a microwave function that uses lower power to thaw frozen food without cooking it.
The reduced intensity allows ice to melt gradually while keeping the food's texture intact: Put the chicken on the defrost setting for ten minutes.
Some appliances cycle power on and off rather than running continuously.
