deep-web

Unsearchable online realm

The deep web is the portion of the internet not indexed by standard search engines—content behind login pages, paywalls, private databases, and dynamic pages that crawlers can't access.

Most of the deep web is mundane: email accounts, medical records, academic databases.

It's often confused with the dark web, which is a small subset requiring special software like Tor to access and associated with illegal marketplaces.
