daemonic

Of evil spirits

Daemonic describes something related to or suggestive of a daemon—a supernatural being or spirit, especially one that drives or possesses.

Unlike demonic, which tilts toward evil, daemonic often carries a sense of inspired creative force or inner compulsion: a daemonic energy possessed him as he composed.

The word suggests power that is neither wholly good nor evil but intense and otherworldly.
