A curb strip is the narrow band of grass or landscaping between a sidewalk and the street curb.
Also called a parking strip, tree lawn, or devil strip depending on region.
Municipalities often require homeowners to maintain their curb strips though the land is technically public: The city planted trees along the curb strip.
