cullers

Selective removal workers

Cullers are people who cull—who sort through a group to remove unwanted members.

The term appears most often in wildlife management, where cullers kill animals to control populations: The cullers removed dozens of deer from the overpopulated forest.

It extends to anyone who selects and discards: manuscript cullers, data cullers.
