creeping sensation
Something slowly moving
A creeping sensation is a feeling of something moving slowly across or beneath the skin—like insects crawling or fingers trailing.
The phrase describes both literal tactile experiences and the physical manifestation of unease: A creeping sensation ran up her spine when she heard the noise.
Fear, disgust, or the uncanny often produce this response.
