covarying
Moving in tandem
Covarying describes things that change together in a related way—when one increases or decreases, the other tends to follow.
The term appears in statistics and science to describe variables that move in tandem: The researchers found covarying patterns in temperature and rainfall.
Two covarying factors may or may not have a causal relationship.
