Air conditioning system
A cooling unit is any device or system designed to lower temperature—an air conditioner, refrigeration compressor, or industrial chiller.
The term is deliberately general, covering everything from a window AC unit to the refrigeration machinery in a warehouse: The building's cooling unit needs servicing.
In technical contexts, it often refers to the outdoor component of a split HVAC system.
