comic romance
Humorous love story
Comic romance is a literary or dramatic work that combines romantic storylines with humor, typically featuring lovers who overcome obstacles through amusing misunderstandings, witty banter, or farcical situations before reaching a happy ending.
Shakespeare's comedies like *Much Ado About Nothing* exemplify the form.
The term also applies to modern romantic comedies in film and television: The movie was a classic comic romance with all the expected beats.
