college accreditation
School quality endorsement
College accreditation is the process by which an external body evaluates and certifies that a college or university meets established standards of quality.
Accreditation matters for students because federal financial aid typically requires enrollment at an accredited institution, and credits from unaccredited schools often won't transfer: Make sure the program has proper accreditation before you enroll.
Regional accreditation is generally considered more rigorous than national accreditation.
