coin rolling
Sorting change cylindrically
Coin rolling is the practice of sorting loose coins into paper wrappers for deposit or exchange.
Banks provide coin rolls in standard denominations—pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters.
The term also refers to a sleight-of-hand trick where a coin appears to roll across the knuckles, and to a scam targeting the elderly where criminals manipulate victims into surrendering valuables under the guise of helping count coins.
