A coffee snob is someone who insists on particular standards for coffee—specific beans, roasts, brewing methods, or shops—and looks down on ordinary coffee drinkers or mass-market brands.
The term is sometimes self-applied with pride, sometimes used dismissively: He's such a coffee snob he won't touch drip coffee.
The pattern extends to other domains: wine snob, beer snob, music snob.
