A coffee addict is someone who drinks coffee habitually and feels unable to function without it.
The term is usually self-deprecating or affectionate rather than clinical: I'm such a coffee addict—don't talk to me before my first cup.
The addiction is to caffeine, but coffee addict sounds warmer than caffeine addict.
