code share
Joint flight arrangement
A code share is an airline arrangement where two or more carriers sell seats on the same flight under their own flight numbers.
One airline operates the aircraft while partner airlines market it as their own: I booked through United but it was a code share operated by Lufthansa.
The practice expands route networks without additional planes.
