clip joints
Tourist trap bars
A clip joint is a bar, nightclub, or similar establishment that overcharges customers, often through deceptive practices—watered-down drinks, hidden fees, or inflated prices revealed only after consumption.
The term suggests customers are being "clipped" (cheated or fleeced): Tourist areas are full of clip joints charging twenty dollars for a beer.
