Baggage retrieval stub
A claim check is a ticket or stub given as proof of ownership when leaving an item to be retrieved later.
You get one when checking a coat, dropping off dry cleaning, or checking luggage: Don't lose your claim check or you'll have trouble getting your bag back.
The term extends to any token that serves as a receipt for later pickup.
