circle jerk
Echo chamber behavior
A circle jerk is a group of males masturbating together, typically arranged in a circle.
The term extends to any situation where people engage in mutual praise or agreement without substance—a self-congratulatory echo chamber: The meeting was just a circle jerk where everyone agreed with the boss.
The figurative sense is more common than the literal one.
