cigar bands
Tobacco roll rings
Cigar bands are the decorative paper rings wrapped around cigars near the closed end, typically bearing the brand name, logo, or imagery.
Originally meant to identify manufacturers and protect gloves from tobacco stains, they became collectible items.
Some smokers remove the band before lighting; others leave it on: He slipped off the cigar band and tucked it in his pocket.
