cherry shrimp
Red tank cleaner
Cherry shrimp are small freshwater shrimp popular in home aquariums, named for the bright red coloring of the most prized specimens.
Native to Taiwan, they're hardy, peaceful, and eat algae, making them ideal for planted tanks.
Hobbyists selectively breed them for deeper reds: My cherry shrimp colony has really taken off.
