cardamon
Green pod spice
Cardamon is a less common spelling of cardamom, the aromatic spice made from the seed pods of plants in the ginger family.
The small green or black pods contain tiny seeds with an intense, slightly sweet flavor used in South Asian and Middle Eastern cooking, as well as in Scandinavian baked goods.
Cardamom appears in both savory dishes like curries and sweet preparations like chai tea and pastries.
