bull sharks
Freshwater-tolerant predators
Bull sharks are large, aggressive sharks found in warm coastal waters worldwide.
Unlike most sharks, they tolerate fresh water and travel far up rivers—they've been found in the Mississippi, the Amazon, and Lake Nicaragua.
Their stocky build, blunt snout, and tendency to inhabit shallow waters near human activity make them responsible for many shark attacks.
Bull sharks are considered more dangerous than great whites because they frequent the same waters people swim in.
