brows

Above the eyes

Brows are eyebrows—the arched lines of hair above the eyes.

The word appears in expressions about facial movement conveying emotion: She raised her brows in surprise, His brows furrowed in concentration.

A brow is also a forehead, or the projecting upper edge of a steep place: the brow of the hill.
