bobbysox
Fifties teen anklets
Bobbysox are ankle-length socks, typically white and often worn cuffed, popular among American teenage girls in the 1940s and 1950s.
The term became so associated with that generation that enthusiastic young fans of Frank Sinatra and other heartthrobs were called bobbysoxers.
Also spelled bobby socks or bobby sox.
