bluet
Pale spring flower
A bluet is a small wildflower with delicate pale blue petals, common in meadows and lawns across eastern North America.
The flowers grow in clusters close to the ground, appearing in early spring: The hillside was dotted with bluets.
The name also applies to certain blue damselflies.
