blisterpacks

Sealed plastic bubbles

Blisterpacks are a form of packaging where items sit in molded plastic cavities sealed to a cardboard backing.

Pills, batteries, and small hardware commonly come in blisterpacks.

The plastic bubbles—blisters—display the product while keeping it secure.

Notoriously difficult to open, they often require scissors and frustrate consumers: I cut myself trying to get the batteries out of the blisterpack.
