bleed through
Ink soaks through
Bleed through describes ink, paint, or other pigments seeping from one side of a surface to become visible on the other: The marker bled through to the next page.
The term extends to any unwanted transmission across barriers—sound bleeding through walls, old paint showing through new coats, or past experiences affecting present situations: Her childhood trauma bleeds through in her relationships.
